  • Pure Peanut Oil
  • 1 1/2 cups White Lily® Enriched Self-Rising White Cornmeal Mix
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large egg, slightly beaten
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder, or to taste


  1. POUR about 3 inches oil into deep fryer or very deep saucepan. Heat oil to 375°F.
  2. COMBINE cornmeal mix, milk, egg, onion and onion powder in medium bowl. Stir until well blended. Drop a few at a time by rounded teaspoonfuls into hot oil.
  3. FRY 2 minutes or until golden brown, turning once. Drain on paper towels. Serve warm.

When making pizza crusts, use 2 to 2-1/2 cups of bread flour (hard wheat) or 2-1/2 to 3-1/2 cups of all-purpose flour (soft wheat).
