Southern Pecan Pie

  • Flaky Pie Crust
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 2/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup coarsely chopped pecans
  • 1 cup pecan halves


  1. HEAT oven to 425°F. Prepare dough for single-crust pie. Place crust in 9-inch pan; chill.
  2. BEAT eggs in large bowl. Beat in corn syrup, brown sugar, butter and salt. Mix well. Stir in chopped pecans; pour into unbaked pie shell. Arrange pecan halves evenly over the top.
  3. BAKE 15 minutes. Reduce temperature to 350°F; bake an additional 30 to 35 minutes or until knife inserted slightly off center comes out clean. Cool on wire rack. Serve with whipped cream, if desired.
