Southern Pecan Pie

| 3 large eggs | 1/4 tsp. salt |
| 1 cup light corn syrup | 1 cup coarsely chopped pecans |
| 2/3 cup packed brown sugar | 1 cup pecan halves |

- 2/3 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup coarsely chopped pecans
- 1 cup pecan halves

PREPARATION DIRECTIONS:

HEAT oven to 425°F. Prepare dough for single-crust pie. Place crust in 9-inch pan; chill.

BEAT eggs in large bowl. Beat in corn syrup, brown sugar, butter and salt. Mix well. Stir in chopped pecans; pour into unbaked pie shell. Arrange pecan halves evenly over the top.

BAKE 15 minutes. Reduce temperature to 350°F; bake an additional 30 to 35 minutes or until knife inserted slightly off center comes out clean. Cool on wire rack. Serve with whipped cream, if desired.
