Southern Pecan Pie

Makes: 8 servings

Ingredients:

Single Crust Flaky Pie Crust
3 large eggs
1 cup light corn syrup
2/3 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup butter, melted
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup coarsely chopped pecans
1 cup pecan halves

Instructions:

1.HEAT oven to 425°F. Prepare dough for single-crust pie. Place crust in 9-inch pan; chill.
2.BEAT eggs in large bowl. Beat in corn syrup, brown sugar, butter and salt. Mix well. Stir in chopped pecans; pour into unbaked pie shell. Arrange pecan halves evenly over the top.
3.BAKE 15 minutes. Reduce temperature to 350°F; bake an additional 30 to 35 minutes or until knife inserted slightly off center comes out clean. Cool on wire rack. Serve with whipped cream, if desired.
